What We Did In 2016

Many programs outside of our weekly worship services and Bible studies have had a significant impact upon our community – moving toward achieving our vision to be a joyful church that is critical to our neighborhood.

Holding two weekly Prayer Ministry groups at church and an additional “prayer by e-mail” group.

Introducing Christian concerts to our community

Reading the Bible in public outside the sanctuary during National Bible Week,

Walking and providing financial support of February’s Crop Walk (raising funds for hungry)

Providing school supplies for Padgett Elementary and the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH)

Supporting Hope House for homeless individuals

Operating our weekly food pantry (providing nearly 1,000 bags of groceries)

Supporting of Pack 711 Cub Scouts and Troop 711 Boy Scouts

Visiting shut-ins at home, in care facilities, and those hospitalized

Hosting Leland Ministry’s methamphetamine addiction recovery program

Offering a three session Freed-Up Financial Living class

Offering two sessions of the Thrivent Financial Class

Supporting the FUMCH athletic program (providing 18 refurbished and 10 new bikes) and life skills sewing program (providing 10 new sewing machines)

Supporting the sending of FUMCH children and our own youth to Summer Camp at Warren Willis Camp

Providing “Angel Tree” donations permitting children at FUMCH to purchase their own presents at Christmas

Hosting the Pedaling Parsons from North Canton, OH on their mission trip

Providing UMCOR Project Kits (100 hand-made school bags and 100 hygiene kits)

Providing UMCOR Flood Buckets for post flood cleanup in the southeastern U.S.

Developing the Neighborhood Missions Ministry which helps people with house and yard maintenance

Providing socks for neighbors

These are some of the additional missions performed in addition to bringing the knowledge of Jesus Christ to our community.
