The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (FUMCH) was established in 1908 to provide a home for orphans and other children that had nowhere else to live.

Today it serves as a diverse ministry with two campuses that include residential, therapeutic group, foster and emergency shelter care. The Home also provides independent living assistance and a community child care center.

On each 5th Sunday of a month, in addition to holding a pot-luck luncheon, we celebrate our support for the Children’s Home. Our children collect a tin can offering during the service. We also supply school supplies each year.

Thanks to efforts by Lake Gibson UMC, our members have been able to supply numerous refurbished bicycles each year, gift cards during the Christmas holidays, and school supplies at the beginning of each school year.

Want to help in an unconventional way? If you use Amazon online purchasing, it is possible to have at least 0.5 percent of your purchase price go directly to FUMCH without additional cost to you. While This may not appear significant, it certainly adds up when you consider that many Methodists are contributing for FUMCH in this fashion.
